Renew Your Nepali Driving Licence and Get a Copy in One Application
How to fill the form online
Enter your licence number, NID number and scan, your date of birth in the AD calendar, and your email. Click Continue and enter the OTP sent to both your mobile and email, then complete the remaining steps in order.
Official province portals
Each province has its own portal. Use the one for the province where your transport office is located:
- Koshi: edlvrs.koshi.gov.np/edl
- Madhesh: edlvrs.madhesh.gov.np/edl
- Bagmati: edlvrs.bagamati.gov.np/edl
- Gandaki: edlvrs.gandaki.gov.np/edl
- Lumbini: edlvrs.lumbini.gov.np/edl
- Karnali: edlvrs.karnali.gov.np/edl
- Sudurpashchim: edlvrs.sudurpashchim.gov.np/edl
Fastest and easiest way: use our app
Searching each portal by hand takes time. Our app, Driving License Nepal, gathers all the province portals and a step-by-step guide for every service in one place. It is the fastest and easiest way to apply. Download Driving License Nepal from Google Play, open How to Apply, choose your service, and follow the steps.
If your licence is due for renewal and you also need a copy, the renewal with copy option handles both in one application. It runs through your province's portal and finishes at your transport office, and the same late-renewal rules apply as for a standard renewal.
Portal steps, in order
- Enter your licence number, NID number and NID scan, date of birth (AD), and email.
- Click Continue and enter the OTP sent to your mobile and email.
- Complete the medical checkup, if the portal shows that step for this option.
- Select your transport office and submit.
- Wait for office approval.
- Pay the renewal fee online.
- Your licence is renewed.
Filling in the form
Enter the licence number as printed on the card, and make sure the NID number and scan match your NID record. Use your own mobile number and email, because the OTP is sent to both.
Medical checkup
Where the medical step applies, use a listed doctor for Rs. 150, or go to the nearest transport office in Bagmati and Koshi, where Koshi adds Rs. 300. Confirm on your portal whether this step is required for this option.
Late renewal
If the licence has been expired for more than 90 days, a late-renewal fine applies. If it has been expired for more than 5 years, online renewal is not possible, and you must visit your transport office in person after the medical checkup.
Start on your province's portal. Gandaki applicants can use edlvrs.gandaki.gov.np/edl.
