How to fill the form online

Choose National if you are a Nepali citizen, or Foreign if the licence was issued to a foreign national. Enter your NID information, complete the OTP verification, and get a police recommendation before you submit.

Official province portals

Each province has its own portal. Use the one for the province where your transport office is located:

Fastest and easiest way: use our app

Searching each portal by hand takes time. Our app, Driving License Nepal, gathers all the province portals and a step-by-step guide for every service in one place. It is the fastest and easiest way to apply. Download Driving License Nepal from Google Play, open How to Apply, choose your service, and follow the steps.

If your driving licence is lost or damaged, you can request a copy through your province's licence portal. The copy request is a short process, but it has one requirement that many people miss: a police recommendation. Get that before you apply.

Portal steps, in order

  1. Choose your applicant type: National (Nepali citizen, verified with your NID) or Foreign (enter your licence number).
  2. Enter your NID information. It is required for every process.
  3. Complete OTP verification.
  4. Obtain a police recommendation before you submit.
  5. Select your transport office and submit the request.
  6. Wait for office approval.
  7. Pay the copy fee online.
  8. Receive your licence copy.

Choosing the applicant type

Nepali citizens choose National and verify with their NID. Holders of a licence issued to a foreign national choose Foreign and enter the licence number.

Police recommendation

A police recommendation is required for every licence copy request. Obtain it first. The portal's upload field for it was not confirmed when this guide was prepared, so check the portal for where to attach it.

Approval and payment

After you submit, the office verifies the request and approves it. Once approved, pay the copy fee online through eSewa, Khalti, ConnectIPS or NepalPay QR.

Start on your province's portal. Gandaki applicants can use edlvrs.gandaki.gov.np/edl.
