How to fill the form online

Enter your licence number, NID number and scan, your date of birth in the AD calendar, and your email. Click Continue and enter the OTP. Before you start, check how long the licence has been expired, because that decides whether a late fine applies.

Renewing a Nepali driving licence on time is the simplest way to avoid fines. The renewal runs through your province's licence portal and ends at your transport office. Because the rules on late renewal depend on how long the licence has been expired, read the fine section before you start.

Portal steps, in order

1. Enter your licence number, NID number and NID scan, date of birth (AD), and email.
2. Click Continue and enter the OTP sent to your mobile and email.
3. Complete the medical checkup.
4. Select your transport office and submit the request.
5. Wait for office approval.
6. Pay the renewal fee online.

Filling in the form

Enter the licence number exactly as printed, choosing the old or new format that matches your card. Your NID details must match the NID record. Use your own mobile number and email.

Medical checkup

Use a listed doctor for Rs. 150. In Bagmati and Koshi provinces you must go to the nearest transport office, and Koshi adds Rs. 300 there.

Late renewal fines

If the licence has been expired for more than 90 days, a late-renewal fine applies. If it has been expired for more than 5 years, online renewal is not possible. In that case, complete the medical checkup and then visit your transport office in person.

Paper cards

If your licence is a paper card, has a PC-wise renewal record, or has a partial paper card entry record, submit the form at the related office instead of relying only on the online route.
