How to fill the form online

Enter your previous application ID and date of birth exactly as they appear on the earlier form, then click Check Eligibility. The form lets you continue only if you failed the earlier written test.

Official province portals

Each province has its own portal. Use the one for the province where your transport office is located:

Fastest and easiest way: use our app

Searching each portal by hand takes time. Our app, Driving License Nepal, gathers all the province portals and a step-by-step guide for every service in one place. It is the fastest and easiest way to apply. Download Driving License Nepal from Google Play, open How to Apply, choose your service, and follow the steps.

If you fail the written test for a new licence, you can apply for a retrial. The retrial is not an immediate second try. There are rules on waiting time and on starting over, and the portal checks your eligibility before it lets you continue.

Portal steps, in order

  1. Enter your previous application ID and your date of birth.
  2. Click Check Eligibility. The portal lets you continue only if you failed the earlier written test.
  3. Pay the retrial fee online after office approval.
  4. Take the retrial.
  5. If you pass, pay the licence fee and receive your licence.

Eligibility

You need the application ID from your earlier new-licence attempt. The retrial is available only after a failed written test. If you have not failed, the eligibility check will not pass.

Waiting time and starting over

After a failed written exam, wait at least one month before the next attempt. You must start again from the beginning, with a new application. Your earlier attempt does not carry forward.

Trial attempts

After you pass the written test, the form allows three trial attempts. You retry only if you fail. If all three trials fail, fill a new form.

Start on your province's portal. Gandaki applicants can use edlvrs.gandaki.gov.np/edl.
