17 Lakh old driving licenses will be printed within asar 2083
It is now no longer necessary for service users to carry a revenue receipt after passing the driving license trial. Service users will receive their license within 24 hours of passing the trial and paying the revenue fee. To facilitate this, candidates must pay the fee at the respective Transport Management Office immediately after passing the trial. Following this, the candidate's details will be updated in the office’s system for printing.
Data from all 42 transport offices across the country will be collected daily by 5:00 PM (excluding public holidays) and forwarded by the Department of Transport Management to the Security Printing Center by 6:00 PM.
Keshav Khatiwada, Director of the Department of Transport Management, stated that they succeeded in this initiative through round-the-clock efforts. "Those who pay the revenue immediately after passing the trial will receive their license within 24 hours. One can pay the revenue up to 18 months after passing the trial," he said. "However, if 18 months pass, the entire process must be started from the beginning."
When asked by Kantipur if this is truly feasible, Director Khatiwada replied, "We needed to build a system for this, which we have now completed. We conducted tests last Wednesday and Thursday to see how viable it would be, and since it was successful, it is definitely possible." He added that this rule will also apply to those renewing old licenses.
